A sound program in collaboration with Mesma Records.
Free entry.
Full program to be announced.
As part of Sandra Lahire’s exhibition “Overexposed, like an X-ray”, “Test Sites” is a sound program inspired by her work on nuclear themes. Rather than approaching the nuclear in its spectacular — and sometimes overwhelming — dimension, the program seeks to explore its diffuse presence — almost banal and invisible — within our everyday life. Yet, operating quietly on bodies and environments, the nuclear transforms and alters over time.
Carried by multiple artists, “Test Sites” unfolds as a movement that gradually becomes more introspective and visceral. An immersive experience that engages both listening and the body, echoing the way Lahire explores processes of alteration and zones of disturbance between bodies (her own, those of workers, and non-human animals), the environment, and the film medium.
Mesma Records is an independent electronic and experimental music label based in Paris and New York, active in music publishing and event production. Exploring under-mapped territories, Mesma develops works that challenge expectations and open up new aesthetic experiences.
