Just like the earliest computer-generated drawings, this workshop invites you to create images with almost nothing! (＾▽＾) To do this, we’ll use binary code—the language of computers, where everything is built using just two values, 0 and 1. (⊙_◎)

Starting with black and white iron-on beads (our 0s and 1s), we’ll compose our own drawings while experimenting with how a visual language can emerge using very simple symbols. Dot art and kaomoji—drawings made of dots and little faces created with keyboard symbols—will serve as inspiration as we play around with a slightly whimsical take on binary. (≧◡≦)
