Bétonpapier n°8
Sabine Teyssonneyre
The Bétonpapier is a mediation medium in the form of a risograph-printed poster. Dedicated to 6-11 year-olds, it accompanies young and old alike in their discovery of the current exhibition. As they unfold the poster, young visitors are invited to wander around the exhibition, focusing on one detail or another, expressing themselves through drawing, writing or play. The visit is punctuated by games and riddles, with plenty of room for autonomy and wandering around the exhibition space.
This Bétonpapier has been produced in the framework of the project « How do you do it? » in partnership with the Les Ailes Déployées Association and as part of the Culture – Health Program ; it is supported by the DRAC Île-de-France and the ARS (Regional Health Agency).
Sabine Teyssonneyre
Artist and researcher, Sabine Teyssonneyre lives and works between Angoulême and Paris. Drawing and science fiction are her tools for engaging with political questions: forging a connection with others, creating dialogue, imagining a peace between humans and plants.
She is the co-founder of FuturOff and the collective Première Frappe. She exhibits her drawing work (Contemporary Art Center of Ivry, Frac Pays de la Loire), illustrates articles, and creates performative lectures (Centre Pompidou). Sabine Teyssonneyre sees drawing as a live practice, a kind of game meant to spark encounters. It is a mobile practice, like that of a troubadour: a comics scribe for institutions, a public illustrator. She has developed the concept of the “live exhibition”, where drawings are passed from hand to hand in a setup designed for the stage.
She teaches comics at universities and art schools (UPJV Amiens, Poitiers, Lycée Auguste Renoir, ESA St Luc), and in 2024 she defended her PhD thesis: “Making Everything Appear: Magic, Minimalism, and Works of Art in Independent Comics.” Rooted in the world of zines, her thesis explores the power of the experimental, focusing on the magazine Lagon and the appearance of artworks within contemporary comics (Université de Poitiers – École Européenne Supérieure de l’Image).
