For children between 7 and 12 years old
    Free of charge

Artist Hélène Deléan will organise 3 workshops inspired by the current exhibition taking place at Bétonsalon, The body goes on strike (20 May - 24 July).

    Saturdays 12th June, 26th June, 17th July
Bétonsalon offers a snack time at the end of every workshop.

    Last workshop
    Saturday 12th June, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm
    ARTICULATED BIONIC HAND
Focusing on Florian Fouché and Hedwig Houben’s artworks showed in the exhibition, Deléan will offer the participants to make an articulated bionic hand, based on a detailed observation of their own hands: their folds, their motion, their limits, using basic materials such as cardboard, plastic straws, and strings.

    Upcoming workshops
    Saturday 26th June, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm
    SUSPENDED

Focusing on Florian Fouché’s work and his balancing characters, as well as Erwin Wurm’s series One Minute Sculpture, children will constitute duos and try to create "sculptures" with thier own bodies and ordinary objects. The goal will be to balance more and more elements to form these sculptures. After experimenting several propositions, every duo will select one of them and will present it to the group. The artist will take a picture of each at the end of the workshop.

    Saturday 17th July, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm
    FOLDED, OBSTRUCTED, LIBERATED

Based on the photographs of body "sculptures" taken during the "Suspended" workshop, this new workshop will propose to make small-scale reproductions of them, using recycled materials (cardboard, fabric, straws, corks, etc.). The aim will be to make them without the help of classic fixing tools (no glue, string or adhesive) to continue experimenting with balance and to stimulate the imagination. The workshop will be followed by a presentation of the sculptures on the Bétonsalon plaza.
