Jean-Charles Massera
An artist and writer, Jean-Charles Massera is the author of works of fiction (United Emmerdements of New Order, We Are L’Europe, etc.) and plays (directed by Brigitte Mounier, Jean-Pierre Vincent and Benoît Lambert, among others). He has also written and co-directed radio dramas (France Culture, Arte Radio, France Inter, France Bleu). His latest book, Occupy Masculinité et autres problèmes déposés, was published by Editions Verticales in 2023.
Since 2010, his work has primarily developed in the exhibition space – photographs, drawings, videos, sound and video installations at IAC – Institut d’Art Contemporain de Villeurbanne, FRI ART – Fribourg, Biennale de Québec, MAC/VAL (Musée d’Art Contemporain du Val de Marne), FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, Le Casino Luxembourg, MoCo – Montpellier, Centre de la Photographie, Geneva). Several of his films have been screened at festivals in Europe and North America or are distributed by IndieFlix.
