soap offers visitors the possibility to go back to those moments of boredom when, without even having to think about it, we try to keep our hands occupied. The piece of paper torn from the notebook to send a message to friends across the classroom, the random study of the world map in the planner, the accumulation of drawings on the pencil case…
With notepads, packs of sequins, pastry wrappers, lined papers, scraps of fabric, rubber bands from friends, and ____!
Draw, compose, fold, give, listen, exchange, take away, leave and ____!

A shared reading of Tropismes (in French) by Nathalie Sarraute

In the twenty-four little Tropismes published in 1939, Nathalie Sarraute reminds us that the ordinary is a fiction. With the precision of a single sentence, sometimes a word, the author unveils the full intensity of our feelings kept silent in everyday life. This shared reading invites us to savour them like cups of strong coffee, each with their familiar taste and characteristic bitterness.
