Workshop with Anna Holveck
Creating links, breathing, listening, encouraging the share of creative processes between arts and sciences.
As part of the “Académie de Bétonsalon”, supported by Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, the artist Anna Holveck led a series of workshops with 45 students of Master 1 in genetics from the Université de Paris, with Jonathan Weitzman, professor of genetics and director of the laboratory Epigenetics and Cell Fate of the Université de Paris.
Anna Holveck considers the body as a tool, an instrument. She makes it sound, in the leg, in the arm, in the different parts of the face. This “body-tool”, wonderfully complex, reappears in her work; the vibrations move from object to object, as in a great ballet in movement. The work looks for the sensitive, an infra-thin of the relationship between people or places.
The students, in half-groups, were invited to pay specific attention to their immediate environment: listening to a fridge, breaking down the kettle song, interpreting the sounds of the street by humming, murmuring, whistling.
