  • Workshop « Le Passe-muraille » by Anna Holveck

A performative and sound workshop led by Anna Holveck, with the students of "Atelier Image", licence 3, Literature and Arts (Université de Paris), in partnership with the Cultural Service of the Université de Paris.

This workshop is part of the "Académie de Bétonsalon" program, supported by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation.

Based on the text Le Passe-muraille, Anna Holveck proposes to experiment the permanence of language through vocal, breathing and concentration exercises. In a tautological way, the body is the wall, the filter through Marcel Aymé’s words pass. Following a determined protocol, the text, repeated over and over, from one person to another, is gradually altered. Each accident is preserved, each intonation, each sideration, each silence is reproduced and reveals the residues of language. Considering the health context related to Covid-19, the workshop, initially planned in face-to-face, was proposed online, on Zoom. This adaptation was an invitation to experiment even more strongly the sound matter and the loss of language. It also allowed us to wonder about: how to form a group, how to find our place despite isolation?

Workshop organized on December 9th , 14th and 16th , with: Lola, Alexandra Buteyko, Zoé Chalais, Célia de Saint Riquier, Brune, Alice, Emma Redon, Manon Retailleau, Anouck Sberro, Julia, Mathilde, Ilena Viollet.

    More informations about Anna Holveck

"The numerical version of this performance was the opportunity to wonder about group talk. I realized that digital tools don’t allow separate speech, each talk has to become collective. In this workshop, we attempted to find the possibilities of communication generally absorbed by Zoom. Cell phones allowed us to interact with each other, in groups and in pairs. This joyful research also created an atmosphere of trust between the participants, liberated us from the constraints of distanced work and fed the structure of the performance."
